Al’s vet visit—neutering?

Good (ish) news! Al’s eye condition is treatable! He just has a little pink eye. I know that’s not a good thing, but the thing I’m happy about is it’s treatable and he’s going to be okay! The vet is very good with piggies and recommended neutering. Does anyone have thoughts on it? Both mine are boys but he said it can help with the aggressiveness. Neither are overly aggressive, but should I do it for a precautionary measure?

I’m afraid neutering doesn’t change piggies’ Behaviour. It only stops them from reproducing. There’s no point having him done unless he’s going with a sow, or there is some other medical reason. Just make sure they have enough space and two of everything.

You could have him neutered if his companion is much older and you think you may want to put him with sows in the future, but otherwise there's no point. As there are risks as with any operation, it's not something to do just for the sake of it.
