I love my piggies. Others just don't understand. I showed my family pictures of my skinny pig. One thought she was cute. Others said ick and that they are considered food in South America. 😠🙄

Certainly no one here thinks so... I think we all love our pigs here. They are considered food in South America, though, that much is true! :O

Very different guinea pigs are considered food in South America. They are not the types we have as domesticated pets and they are not skinny pigs either. Ignore them, some people will say anything to look funny or to get a ride out of people

My OH claims not to like my Piggies but he was the one who suggested we put them in the garage straight away instead of in September/October when we move cos there are foxes. People who have never had piggies don't understand how they gradually worm their way into the hardest of hearts.

Of course you are not a freak, and neither is your skinny pig! My mother likes our piggies but she has serious issues with our little skinny girl Tallulah. "She's so deformed I just want to cry when I look at her" she said, and "how can she be happy looking like that?"
Well mother it is in fact 2019 and "different" looking people actually mostly live normal happy lives nowadays. And skinny pigs are just piggies who forgot the genetics of the grow-your-own-pyjamas. And Tallulah's husband Ollie thinks she is very beautiful which is all that matters really!

Sorry guys. I was feeling sensitive. Lol. I was out of town for a funeral and was the butt of jokes for some grieving people. Lol. Glad I could help them feel better 🙄.

I also think Tallulah is very beautiful!

Aw hope you’re doing okay! Don’t apologise, I feel defensive over my babies 24/7 regardless of circumstance. I’m just like hey I don’t say your human baby is ugly, I think it but I keep it to myself :))

Listen you are an animal lover. Piggies are sweet, smart, and fun. As a middle age woman in South Florida with a guinea pig SOME people do think I am 'nuts'. A coworker actually said, 'oh you have a rodent' and made a bad face. I wanted to defend my choice of pet and explain how amazing these are as pets but I didn't. I said you are right I do have a rodent and I love her. Most of my friends and I are conservationists, always volunteering for dog shelters or supporitng people who rescue animals of the earth and ocean. I LOVE ANIMALS and I am a proud guinea owner. Enjoy your pet 💞

Their loss.
I love my guinea pigs and just live with the fact that while it’s ok to show baby pictures to everyone, very few people want to look at the pictures of my beautiful piggies
