Am i actually scarring my pigs by doing this?...

I don't think anyone has really answered this question before...but typically during snuggle time, my pigs just love sitting on my lap, they lick me, purr, sqeuk, get comfy...etc
Sometimes I just give them a really big kiss on the top of their head! They pause for a few moments and then resume licking me...etc!
My question is...do guinea pigs really like to be kissed? or is that scarring them? Do they think I'm licking them back? I just get kinda confused when they pause. Sometimes they even shake their head (how rude trying to get rid of my kisses lol) I have no idea!

I do this too, and mine shake their heads, i dont think it scares them atall really.

It doesn't scare them, just puzzles them. if they lick you back, then they clearly recognise it as your way of kissing (piggies lick around the eye to show affection). If they shake themselves, then they are obviously not quite as keen on being cuddled and kissed. It is down to the individual personality.

Jasmine, Elsa, and Tiana are lickers and they will actually lift their little snouts up for a kiss when I make a kissing noise! Belle and Rapunzel tolerate my kisses and Olaf, Anna, and Kristoff usually give me a nice head butt to the mouth, like “get the heck off of me human!”

I doubt it scares them, they probably just don't understand what we're doing and why. My daughter once said, "I bet they wonder why we keep mashing our food-holes against them if we aren't going to eat them." LOL!
