Am I allergic to my guinea pigs?

For the last two weeks I’ve been having allergy symptoms, sneezing non-stop, watery red eyes, stuffed nose, itchy lips etc.
It’s been weird for me since I’ve had my piggies for half a year now, and I’ve been using mountain hay for over two months.
My allergic reaction almost every time happens at home, but in some cases- outside. What should I do?

Ahh. Allergies. I’ve struggled all my life so perhaps you’ll find something useful from my experience

It’d definitely be smart to consult your doctor! Allergies exhaust you and your body, my doctor just had me on a one week course of the most basic antihistamines as my symptoms lingered for months. Do consider allergy tests, too. They’re annoying to do but it is what it is.

My allergies get worse in fall, the hay tends to be a bit dustier. My girls get topped off twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. I let some fresh air into the room after the evening top off. Also important to wash your bedding, the area, and remove any clutter in your room.

I hope you’ll feel better. Make sure to drink enough fluids and eat well, your body needs the energy

My first port of call would be the doctor and get some allergy tests.
