Am i buying the right product for C&C cage? please let me know

but that's really expensive!

I'm in the row of terraces just over the road from the cul de sac by the bookies :) I don't work at the hospital but both my kids were born there, and have spent a fair amount of time there over the past 3 years or so with them!
 
Just thought, if it works out cheaper to buy a bigger pack of the display sense ones, I'd be interested in splitting them with you to make it cheaper :)
 
when thay say one cube they mean one 4x4 cube (so a big cube) it is for 23 grids. i bought it in january the product number is the same and so is the price.
 
ahh I thought it was the link off here people had used - very cheeky if they have changed it!

oh thats weird and very misleading cause on the website it shows a picture of 6 cubes and then it says its only one cube for sale. I think i will just order one and see what happens.
 
you don't have to pay when you order do you? I would just get them and see unless you're in a hurry for them

Well we have probably met then at some point because i am a staff nurse on ward 16 the children's ward, this is getting spooky.
I think i will order the cube pack from B&Q and see what happens, i shall let you know how it turns out so that you can order some.
 
i reserved mine, i dont think you have to pay when you order. not sure though.
 
just going to call them now to order it, i think it will be pay on collection.

Jobo- that's so bizarre, my son spent a week on the swine flu isolation ward there when he was just a few weeks old (he had bronchiolitis but they put him on there because of the symptoms), I think it was ward 17 at the time, I have to say they were amazing nurses on there and great at helping me to get a pump etc so I could express for him to be tube fed, we also spent the night on the normal children's ward when he was a week old and lethargic and running a temperature- we have had many trips to children's outpatients and A&E there, so have no doubt passed each other at some point!

Let me know if you want to split delivery on Corex etc, I can order some to be delivered and split with you if you like :)
 
Yes that was ward 14 your son would have been on. How weird. Anyway i would be more than happy to split delivery costs with you, I am new to this sort of cage, if you could not tell already lol, so you will have to guide me about how much i will need. Maybe we should meet up sometime and meet each other G.Pigs. I have a herd of 8 girls and a neutered boy that live outside and a very recently neutered boy and 2 girls that are indoors and the reason i am doing all this cage research.
I am about to adopt 3 girls (The one's on my avatar) and they will eventually live outside with my herd when i finally get my shed and run built. I am having my home check on Thursday so hopefully all will go well with that.

wow- loads of piggies - would love to meet them :) I've got two pairs of boys indoors, they're in shop bought cages in my kitchen at the moment but I'm also planning on building a C&C cage, hence why I've been looking at the grids, the corex for the base you can get online but it often comes in packs of 5 I think which is why I suggested splitting a pack, I'll only need 2 sheets and if you're doing a two tier you'll want the same, will have a better read around and let you know
 
Well B&Q have just called me to say they have one of the mesh cubes in stock so i am going to have a look at it, although a little concerned cause he tells me its not heavy and only about 8kg so i am beginning to hink that it may just be the 4 grids, but i am off now to have a look and decide what to do, will keep you informed.
 
Well greatnews, i went to B&Q feeling that i was going to be wasting my time, but the box of cube grids did in fact hold about 24 grids and it only cost £28.98. I am really pleased and have checked that more can be ordered if needed cause i took the very last box off the shelf, so as long as they are on the internet they are available, so great news all round xx

Thank you all so much for all your help over the C&C problem. As you know i brought the last pack from the shelf at B&Q warehouse in Binley Woods, Coventry. My OH thought it wopuld be a good idea if i ordered more, so i have just phoned my local B&Q and they have ordered 2 more boxes for me and will call me when it is ready.
Just follow the link from the above post and it will show you the product and you have to call the store and give them the product number. A box is really reasonably priced too and if we all order like this, then i dont think it will be long before the product is back on the shelves with an abundance.
 
Hi,

I used the shoe rack too and we made a fab cage with it...it looks very Zen :) We bought a piece of perspex for the front so we could see them..and we secured it using tie straps and the whole thing is secure.

I have just bought a 3 storie cage off ebay and my nephew wants to buy the shoe rack one off us as it looks so cool.

I've ordered one too, but am now thinking I need 2- so need to order another, they're going to wonder what's going on!
 
i know and the guy on the phone sounds so nice and friendly that if he asked me i would probably lie and say we are sorting out our garage for storage. But as i said at this rate of sales they will probably start stocking them on the shelves again soon. My husband is a dab hand at building things (only guy i know who likes flat pack furniture) an he has a few ideas for the base ant the material to use, so when we get to it maybe we could help each other out and swap ideas.

Whoops have just noticed your question about my avatar pigs lauralucy, so a few days late but here is the answer. They are the trio of girls that i am in the process of adopting from Honeybunnies in Leicester. I have not seen them yet, just this picture, they are all about a year old and have existing names but i am going to change their names to Dorcas (on the left) Minnie (in the middle) and Queenie (On the right) as i like to name my pigs after things i am fond of and i love Lark Rise to Candelford. What do you think?

great idea- my other half is useless at any sort of DIY and just gets saw/drill happy, bless him, so I will be building mine alone (well with help from my 1 year old and 3 year old!)

They annoyed me today though, as I called to order another pack and got a different guy, and he refused to order them over the phone unless I paid £20 for home delivery and said the other guy shouldn't have, so now I have to drag the kids over there on the bus just to order them, or take them out at bedtime when the OH gets home tomorrow, grrrr am not impressed
