Greenie here,

I know to feed guinea pigs morning and evening, should I leave a bowl of pellet food in the cage during the day or should there be no food left around in the cage?

Oh yes and is banana okay to give them - they scoffed it

Yes food can be left in the cage all the time :)

And yes guinea pigs can eat banana - be careful how much fruit you are giving them though --

A good way of feeding them is giving them a mix of several veg in the mornings and evenings; you can give pellets either in the evenings for overnight or in the mornings (or half the measure at both time). Make sure that they have plenty of fresh hay and water at all times.

Guinea pigs are grazers, which means they eat off and on all the time.

Here is a list of foods you can give - not all guinea pigs eat everything; some can be downright picky. Guinea pigs which haven't been brought up with fresh veg (from a breeder/shop) need to have them carefully introduced one by one (and then repeated several times - like with human children!)

I hope that helps you!
