I just want to see if what I am feeding my piggies is good! they get kibble all the time....Oxbow essentials. I give them kaytee Timothy hay that is available all the time and then I fill a bowl with veggies twice daily. I rotate around but use cilantro, red, yellow, and green peppers, cucumber, carrots, zucchini blueberries, seedless grapes, radish, and different lettuces, and I give the adults an oxbow vitamin c tab daily. water available all the time. I am also giving momma and babies a little alfalfa hay.

Hi there

Sounds like a veritable piggy banquet with a good mix of hay, pellets and veggies. I don't know Oxbow essentials - is it an all in one pellet? Just go easy on any fruit and carrot as that should only be fed in small quantities a couple of times a week at most (due to sugar content). Lettuces have very little nutritional content so again should be fed sparingly (although the piggies love them).

I'd be careful of giving the adults dry food all the time. It's easy calories and therefore they can end up putting weight on quite easily. My guineas get 15gs each, each day. That's like a half filled small ramekin (think hamster sized food bowl). Youngsters and pregnant and lactating mums need more though because they are growing. This forum in the food section and Guinea Lynx have very good feeding guides that outline a balanced piggy diet. ;)
