Am I giving too much food?

My piggies get fed twice a day. They get parsley daily, and basil daily. Alongside that, kale daily, and cucumber daily. Occasionally strawberry as a treat. And I don't often give parsley, kale, and basil together, so I vary between things that I don't want to give daily... carrot, apple, grapes, romane lettuce... and tonight I tried banana which they hated.
But am I overfeeding them? They love it, squeal at 8AM and 5AM because they know it's food time, without me even making a noise they squeal, and they eat every bit of it. They also always have a constant supply of hay, and a constant supply of tesco guinea pig food (I took them off Gerty because of the colours and so on... moved them over very slowly anyway).
Please help,
Kt x

Sounds very much like my feeding routine. I tend to average a cup ful of veggies per day each, split into two like you. Fruit, eg. apple, melon, 'a' grape, I given more as a treat 2 - 3 times a week in small amounts, not sure if it is right but I tend to think too much fruit may give them the runs ? xx

The amount sounds fine. However much you feed them, they will wheek for more! They will truly eat you out of house and home. :))

The diet could do with tweaking a little though; parsley, basil and kale are all very high in calcium, too much of which can combine with other nutrients and potentially lead to the formation of bladder stones. You could give one of these in moderation daily if balanced out with other veggies.

Strawberries are good to give daily, as is cucumber (in moderation), peppers and tomatoes. Other fruits tend to be too high in sugars or acids so are best kept as treats. Other good dailies to give are coriander, lettuces, courgette, chard and grass
