Am i going crazy and paranoid or do you guys get this too?!

Hey,

I think I'm going mad, everytime i get in to bed i keep thinking someome is going to steal or hurt my pigs that are outside.

18 of the 28 are outside including Barney and the thought drives me crazy!

Do you guys ever get this or am i just being stupid?

ps. Sorry for no pigs of the days lately been tad busy.

I couldn't sleep if my pigs were outside either! A nice big shed is the answer to a good night's sleep I found.

If a shed isn't the answer for you then have you thought of a security light that would go on if there was movement in the garden? I wonder if they can be alarmed too? The chances of anything happening are small - you know that already, but there have been a couple of theft threads on here recently so that might well be adding to your anxiety.

Perhaps something as simple as a security light would help you relax about them being outside.

We do have a light and my mum is planning to get a big shed build for them all.

Yeah the theft threads did make me worry more, didn't think people would really steal them until i read it. Hopefully a shed will make t better, thatd why my mum is getting, she is the same.

what about putting a camera up or a alarm.i was crazy enough to get up at 2am today as i heard a loud wheek but it was just luna doing her usual screeching!
 
I do worry about them, but not an awful lot since I have four dogs who'd bark loads if there was someone in the garden.

I usually just worry that one of them won't have water or food or will be cold or that I left the shed or a hutch open. I just have to make sure they are all ok before going to bed, or I keep thinking of them.
 
It'll be great when you get your shed you can sleep soundly knowing they are safe and cozy! I'd be the same if mine were outdoors :)
 
I just wanted to say, that because some people are saying "I'd be so worried about mine", sorry if we are making you feel more paranoid. I'm sure they'll be fine. :) I've had outdoor piggies for more than seven years and nothing ever happened to any of them. Try not to worry too much, they'll be ok.
 
Haha it's ok.

I mean when i go out there and look, they are all secured down by the covers, we put loads of stuff infront the cages to hot it down securely and my mum has her window wide open (She likes to freeze at night for some reason...) so she will hear it.

Just the though makes me feel ill, there are some really sick people in this world...
