but I feel very happy when I find bargains for my piggies lol I was telling someone about them and they handed me a curly lettuce they have found in the bargain bin, how kind is that? I managed to get a RARE treat (high ca I know) today off carrots with tops on O0 and romaine and curly lettuce

If you are sad you aint on your own ;)
I do the regular piggy shop & am always looking out for bargains...even got mum & sister doing it for me now,mum usually returns from town with some reduced goodies & sister sent me a text recently saying she'd got me a bag of spring greens from Sainsburys-they were bogof if I wanted it .

Pays to shop around loads of bargainsout there if you go at right time O0

My OH goes crazy everytime we shop together cause i pick up so much veg and he moans he never gets it....... it's all for my little boys and girls. x

Yep, I think with those prices everyone is looking for bargain and if you can find one you are really happy.
My local greengrocer knows me and I get some "extras" from out the back.

I get whats on offer etc, its a great way to make sure they get a varied diet too :)

And it's good when tightening the ole purse strings O0

I could get it even cheaper really if I asked work but never like to ask.

I spend about a fiver a week in Lidl and that feeds my lot, £5 a week on fruit and veg isnt bad, but as of tuesday...only having three, the scoff should last longer - not a fan of having fruit and veg lying around for a week tho :o :o

I always look in the bargain section first for their fruit/veg - that way they have more chance of getting a change every day otherwise I can't afford to buy many different things. I managed to get some oregano in Asda last night for 5p - now that's a bargain. And its something they've never had before!

And since its their first birthday today I splashed out a big bag of curly kale for them (its usually too expensive).

if you want bargains Tesco reduce various produce at 2pm then at teatime & again at night usually after 8 or 9pm you can often get veggies for 10p still in good condition( I know someone who works there but they never get me any bargains they just tell me about them afterwards) GRRRRRRR

I got some great bargins last night from asda so I treated them to corn on cob :D

I love bargains for the piggies, i go to tescos late at night they nearly always sell of herbs really cheap so i treat my piggies to them O0

Local fruit an veg market are good to, they give us the trimmings every saturday adn i got a huge bag of strawberries for £1 twice as many as you get in shops for £3, except i ate most of them myself ;D ;D but the piggies got laods :smitten: :smitten:
