Well I decided to order Timothy Hay from a farm which specialises in supplying hay for small animals. I can't believe the difference from the shop bought stuff. And it was much cheaper and delivered to my door (only ordered it on Wednesday night and it arrived today.

So much greener than the shop bought stuff (many more long crunchy stalks too)

It's beautiful - and they seem to love it, although they really like the stuff in the pic as there is dandelion and marigold through it (from B&M as I was about to run out)

Looks like you have a body in that bag! Are you sure it's hay?:lol!:

Lol, I know it does look rather suspicious doesn't it. I've no idea where I'm going to keep it. The small bags fit in the cupboard, but this is going to involve a clear out I think.

I ordered some samples from them once and it was rather brown...the pigs still destroyed it mind you haha I might try ordering a larger size to see how it is, yours certainly looks nice!

Yes, that's the one @Cavy Kung-Fu .Is that who you use too?

Yes I use them too, they're great. Storage is a bit tricky but it's super cheap, great quality and not too soft. The piggies love it!

@Eriathwen I think it depends when you order it? I believe it depends on what sort of growing season we have and how much they managed to get. Now is a great time to order as it will be fairly fresh :)

I think it does depend on the time of year you order. My local shop has some lovely hay in just now. A few months ago it was brown and quite dusty. Now its fresh and green :)

The hay I got from the farm a couple of days ago is lovely and fresh and smells like honey! It even makes my taste buds tingle! My fluff balls love it!

I order from Timothy Hay, but the herd doesn't have it often as with 7 I was going through a bag a month. Now I get meadow hay from a local farm and they have the green Timothy hay several times a week

And they go crazy for the Timothy hay and the oat hay

Just got my fresh bag of hay from timothyhay.com today so thought you might want to see what it looks like!

Lovely and fresh, the piggies are doing their hay dance around the cage! :D
