Hi everyone,

I just found Amelia has passed away. She made it to 2 weeks old. I believe now she did have water on the brain because she was acting the same as she always has this morning, eating, wheeking, walking around unbalanced. We went for a walk and came back to find she has died. She was just laying there in the middle of the cage. Lulu and Walnut, her Mom and brother, were sitting in the corner away from her.

We buried her in our backyard next to my guinea pig, helen's, grave and next to a rose bush. I put one long stem rose on her grave and a large rock and some small ones in a circle.

I really miss that little girl. She was quite a fighter. We think that she had a stroke and went into a coma and then died from her brain swelling. The Vet warned us that is how it would happen if she had water on the brain. She was eating hay and green peppars this morning and her diarrhea had completely stopped. Poor little girl. She is at peace now. I only wish she could have had a long and happy life. I hope she found some happiness in her life with her Mom and brother and the different food she got to try.

So sad....

Here is a picture of her:

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I was so hoping she'd make it. I'm sure she knew more love in her little life than some others get in years. RIP sweet baby Amelia xx.

I'm so sorry she passed, she did good to get to where she did. You gave her all the love and care she could have needed, and made her two weeks very special. Big hugs to you.

Rest well, dear Amelia. xx

I'm so sorry to hear you've lost Amelia, such a pretty girl. Take heart from knowing she knew love and care for the short time she was with you. xx

I am so sorry that you lost your beautiful little girl; she has known love and care in her short life.

RIP Amelia

Thank you so much everyone for all the posts... It means a lot to me. I'm glad I was able to share Amelia's life, her struggles and triumphs with everyone. I was thinking that it was meant to be that I brought her mother home as I wonder what they would have done to her if she had been born at the petstore. It makes me cringe. I'm glad she was a part of our home even if it was only for 2 weeks. Such a little angel..

Thank you again.

Lynn

Aww, RIP Amelia. What a sad, sad loss for you. News like this always breaks my heart, it's just not fair that these things happen to them, whether it's a part of life or not, it's sad for them and us. Thinking of you, take care. XX
