An alternative run cover....

No piggy pics unfortunately, but I wanted to share this photo of my home-made run "cover". The playmats fit perfectly over each section of the run and look surprisingly nice when slotted together. :))

We had a bit of a rain shower soon after I put this together, the girls remained nice and dry in their hidey houses underneath.

No need to spend lots of money on a custom cover, I just borrowed these off my toddler lol!

I am going to get a rabbit run for the rabbits over winter to use for the bad weather. How big are those matts?

They are 63cm square (2 feet). I bought them from ELC during a "buy 2 get 1 free", though you can pick them up cheap from Tesco or Amazon. Just make sure you get the right size as there are also some mini ones around.

They will be very good for insulation as they are made of very thick foam and they are effective at repelling water, just be sure to put them somewhere warm to dry when you're not using them and don't stack them when wet as they can go a bit nasty lol. I think they'll be great for ensuring your rabbits have somewhere cosy outdoors in the cold weather. :)
 
Thanks Glynis, it does look rather nice doesn't it? Certainly much more attractive than the cheap tarp I used to throw over their run. :))
