Daisy is still indoors and quite relaxed and confident but it breaks my heart that when I come home from work she is extremely chatty and when I speak to her she starts popcorning. I mean it's lovely that u make her so happy but I assume it's because she has no company at all during the day.

So I nipped up to our rspca today but they have zero guinea pigs in, they tried another local rescue for me who have all manner of farm animals and some degu's but no piggies and in a vain hope I went to the p@h where Daisy came from (the adoption centre) but not a single piggy to be found!

There is a small pet rescue out in Barwell and shes asked me to call them to arrange a visit as they have a number of piggies but my phone has decided to go blank on me when on phone calls and I am unable to hang up (I've already left my mum a few 4 min voicemails as I can't hang up and don't want to do that to a stranger lol). I've ordered a refurbished cheap phone off ebay and was hoping it would arrive today but no such luck. I just want to get the ball rolling so my girl can be much happier again

I know the feeling, I searched everywhere when I was looking for a cagemate for Jon Snow.

Try giving the rescue a call from a phone box, or borrow someone phone and see if you can pop in tomorrow or later today.

Hopefully you'll be success soon x

Aw.. Sometimes it can be hard. I remember having problems searching for a friend for Snowball x

Hi I'm in Leicester too and did a quick online search, there's quite a few small rescues around. Comes up first which I've heard good things about although with a very strict rehome critearea apparently. Good luck!

So sorry that Daisy is still waiting for a new cage mate. It can sometimes feel that it's all conspiring against us. Keep looking Kelly - the right piggy is out there for her.

Which one comes up first? I'm not looking for a pig but when I checked there were only 2 and the RSPCA in Leicester.

There's quite a few locally. Rspca, Honeybunnies, small pet rescue, redgate farm sanctuary and beech tree bunnies that I know of.

The OH is home now so will prob borrow his phone in the morning to call the small pet rescue and see if I can go over. I've also messages beech tree as that's where my first two were from to see if they have any in at the moment (last time I checked they only had intact males)

Beech tree just replied, the only females they have at present are new mothers and they aren't ready to be separated from babies for another 10 days so there is an option there if the search is still going on

I have my fingers crossed that the right friend comes along soon xx

Honeybunnies are great. Really good reputation. Good luck in your search.

Hi sorry it was Honeybunnies! Don't know what happened there.
Yes they do seem to be strict, my friend who's a senior vet nurse has rehomed from there but a few of her nurses were denied mainly because of the outdoor set up and one apparently had the most amazing set up in a shed but it was still classed as outside

Well I messaged the blue cross yesterday and they called me today. Neutered boar and it means me travelling an hour and a half. Just need to figure out the logistics of keeping them indoors and separated as he is only going for neuter tomorrow

Best of luck in the piggy search Kelly, whichever piggy ends up with you they are going to have a fantastic home. Will keep checking back for updates.

Decided not to go for the blue cross boy for a number of reasons one of which being having to sort out a second cage and more space to have them side by side for 5 weeks and then risking them not getting along.

I have now reserved another male elsewhere (about a 40 min drive) and he will be safe to go in with females in around 2 weeks so the plan is that I go when he's ready and see if Daisy will get on with him. He's absolutely stunning, I can't stop thinking about him so fingers crossed!
