An up and down week!

As the title suggests this week has been very hit and miss. My gorgeous girly fudge was put to sleep on Wednesday after having aed suspect stroke on Tuesday evening. She was unable to use her back legs/lower half so it was thought to be the kindest thing. I couldnt bare to see her suffer unnessarly. Marshmellow is heartbroken to have lost her sister. Extra attention is being given but she is really unhappy.

On a happier note, my 2 amazing boys have been ourtside enjoying the good weather. Tonight they have been outside for a few hours. My 2 year old son even decided to sit in the run with them for cuddles. They are all soo good together! The boys are becoming soo much better with handing and will happily take their veggies from my hand. Love these little guys!


Does anyone grow/make things for their piggies. I am desperate to make some thing for them but have no idea where to start! Any ideas? My boys are in an indoor cage any ideas for toys/boredom breakers I could make. They have a tunnel, hay rack and tubes ful of hay currently. Their run is full of tunnels, igloos, chew tubes and hay filled flower pots.

How has everyone been enjoying the weather? How have your piggies been coping? My boys are alot happier in this nicer weather althouhg Marshmellow could care less!

Hello. I'm really sorry to hear about Fudge, RIP little one. You could try giving Marshmellow a cuddly toy of approx piggy size to snuggle next to. It can help with the blues. Will you be able to get her a new friend?

On a happier note; I grow lettuce and celery in big terracotta pots indoors for my girls, just taking the outside leaves each time so that they keep growing. The celery was an experiment, it was a 99p row of seedlings, and I'm taking the biggest stem with leaves each time. Surprisingly good and they totally LOVE it. All of this just provides nice treats every now and then.

Then there's the washing up bowl of parsley they are allowed to climb in and eat down to the soil every now and then. Parsley comes back. And the huge parsley plants in the garden that I harvest from with more care (for us as well!)

Thanks for the replies everyone. Due to Mashmellows age, I dont feel it would be fair to put extra stress on her with introducing new friends. She is a very quiet/timid old girl who used to just like it with her and Fudge. She is over 6 years old (a resuce). Lucy x
