Little Red was very sad after being taken from his brothers and put in quarantine, he wasn't eating much and was losing weight. So after weighing up the pros and cons I decided to cut quarantine short and just get on with the introduction.
Bonding pen and oven gloves at the ready! IMG_0235.webp
Caspian making sure Red knows whose the boss!

Making friends.

After spending 24hrs in the bonding pen they moved into their new penthouse cage in Piggie Towers.

2 days together and so far so good!

Aww just look at them :luv::luv::luv: hope they keep it up  they are both gorgeous :love:
ps what made you pick those oven gloves? ;):D

Thank you everyone for your kind words, it takes piggy people to understand, two just aren't enough! It's very early days with this bond yet and there's loads of hormone spikes to get through, they are both at a difficult age but I have everything crossed they stay together.

@GPTV those gloves were in the sale, I couldn't not have them!

@flowerfairy and @Merab's Slave the set ups have just grown. There's no more room to go out so we had to go up. Caspy has already worked out people going past might have food and being on our eye level he rushes to the end of the cage to beg . This has got to be it now though we can't expand any further, I'm already having to use a step ladder to clean the back corners of the top cage.

Awwww he is adoreable - well they both are. One is never enough, or 2 or 3, erm or 4..... I'm sticking at 5
The only reason I only have 3 is that there’s nowhere to put anymore!
I would have stuck with 5 but as they are all boars Caspian needed a friend! In fact if I hadn't been presented with Caspian and his story I would have stuck with 4. As for having no room that was my argument against having Caspian, but my OH persuaded me he needed me and I'd think of something! The stacking cages are not ideal but it's working okay. They do say necessity is the mother of invention! I absolutely have no room for more now however the sad the story, but I have found two very nice rescues!

They have the oven gloves and tea towels, egg cups and a tea pot with the same design in the sale at the Cath Kidston store in Manchester.

Sadly these two have been seperated, Red has hit the 6 month hormones! I think it was my fault for building them a loft last week, although they seemed to love it and ran around popcorning the change sent him over the top. There was no warning, no rumble strutting or grumbles. I brought them in from the garden run on Tuesday and as they walked out of the carrier into the cage Red turned on Caspy and nipped his back. I checked Caspy over and he has two small scabs on his back and one on his foot so this wasn't the first time he'd had a go. I seperated overnight and reintroduced in a pen on Wednesday, they were fine in the pen, shared hay and food but as soon as they went back in the cage hackles were up and Red lunged again. I have seperated a cage so they are side by side and chatting through the bars, they seem happy with the arrangement and are both popcorning and sleeping lying either side of the divider. I shall see how they go and maybe try together again when we get past the hormone stage. Caspy is such a gentle friendly boar who was very happy to have a cage mate after 5 months alone it's such a shame, but hopefully Red will calm down, if not there's always plan C and the rest!

Awww they look so happy together! Your set up looks fab too!

Edited as I hadn't seen your update - hope you can reintroduce them at a later date
