Meet Snickers and Bounty

IMG_3006.jpg

Snickers and Bounty were advertised on Gumtree by someone keeping them with bunnies rolleyes and two other guineas, who couldn't manage all 6. Now I know the dangers of Gumtree ads, and asked lots of questions before I committed, as did the owner, even asking me to email photos of my hutches...normally you get a 'will you pay x stupid amount?' (no!) and that's it!

Mum and I went down to see them today. It was clear why their previous owner found it too much - as well as the bunnies and guineas she had 5 chickens, a dog, and several cats, plus four horses to care for, and works full time...! She wasn't actually bothered which two guineas we took as long as we took two, and as I have always had a soft spot for abbys and Bounty fell asleep in Mum's arms, and she had never named them, we took them home.

They are both quite skitty as haven't been handled much, but am pleased to say a general check showed nothing I am worried about. We are off to the vets on Monday for a proper checkup, until then they are being quaranteened and they will most likely stay in quaranteen til next weekend anyway.

Attempt at a pic of Bounty but she is far more nervous

Not quite sure who is moving in with who at the moment as Honey has started chasing her daughter Tulip off food, water etc :{ so there may be a few reshuffles going on...the joys of guinea pigs!

aww they are so cute I love the names :)

I will be totally honest, stopped for petrol on the way home, was hungry, bought a snickers bar...and bountys are my other favourite chocolate bar!

I have to admit I really want some chocolate after reading there names mmmm

Well we had the vet check tonight. We almost didn't have it as Snickers jumped out of the pet carrier as I put her in, and I had to crawl around the patio trying to get under the hutches to catch her! Clearly she has a cheeky streak!

My vet is pleased both are in good health, we reckon about 6 months old so a bit less than the previous owner said. They definitely need work when it comes to handling but that's not a problem, we do cuddles a lot here!

What beauties! I hope that they will settle down soon with your and your mum's loving care.
