After Keziah died my husband asked if I wanted to get another guinea pig. I said not until after we move next year - or if my old lady Merab dies.
So..... when I told him last night about a young mother and daughter who needed a new home because their owner was moving to a place where pets were not allowed his response was “ I’m not surprised - I didn’t think you’d last!”

Today Priscilla and her daughter Phoebe came home with me.
They are in the same room as Merab and Jemimah so they will be able to hear and smell each other.
Tomorrow I will arrange a vet check.
For now I just have to give them time to settle into a quieter household. The family they’ve come from have 3 noisy children and I think the baby has been quite stressed.
So far as I have been told mum is 9 - 10 months old, baby is 6 months.
I will post better pictures when they are settled.
Mum is Priscilla - she’s crested, longer haired but not sure of her breed. Phoebe is her daughter and looks like a Dutch to me.
I will start a separate thread for bonding advice.

So cute! And so different from each other :) Good luck with grooming Priscilla- I dont think I'd dare get a long haired piggy, my own hair is enough trouble!

Congratulations! They are both beautiful and very lucky to have found such a nice home!

How gorgeous. Good luck with grooming. I have recently clippered Sylvia as she was getting very hot in this heat, and it’s made grooming very much quicker and easier!

My thoughts exactly. But they are both so pretty, I'm not surprised you couldn't resist! Lovely Biblical names too.

Aww they're gorgeous. Congratulations. I especially love the long haired one (but that's just because I've a thing for long haired piggies)

Dexter is my 1st long haired aswell. Everytime I groom him I trim under his armpits and back legs as close 2 the skin as I dare. With the movement of walking those parts can get quite matted. I also trim around his bum and bits. U can't notice the close cut once they're stood as the long hair over the back covers it all :tu:

Priscilla looks like a piggie that will require a lot of attention with that hair. That's not entirely a bad thing. And Phoebe has one of the cutest piggie faces ever! :luv:

CONGRATULATIONS! They are stunning! and have found the most wonderful home with you and your ladies, cannot wait to hear lots more about them

The new girls seem to be settling well so far. Phoebe is still very skittish but has been spotted out eating.
Just sitting by their cage talking I managed to get some better pics, especially of Priscilla and her funky hair do.
They had only ever been fed guinea pig muesli so I added a few pellets in this morning. I will gradually wean them on to pellets. Priscilla loves them and was tucking in happily to the pellets rather than the muesli.

Zoomies and popcorning this morning by both Priscilla and Phoebe.
When I came home Merab and Jemimah both started up in the expectation that there were veggies for them in my bag.
Veggies delivered and there was Priscilla at the bars hoping for some too - just a little squeak - almost apologetic.
Next thing is both newbies sitting out eating.
It took Phoebe about 30 seconds to remember that she was scared and should dive for cover!
They are settling nicely

Oh bless them, so sweet! :luv:
Sounds like they are gaining confidence :)

Vet check today and both girls have a clean bill of health.
They are both a good weight and in good condition.
Priscilla has a bit of wax in one ear so she had a thorough check for ear mites but no sign of that thankfully.
Both had some lap time when we came home.
Phoebe wasn’t sure if she felt secure or if she should play dead but was fine for the very brief lap time.
Priscilla decided she was happy and relaxed so I had a chooken and an almost pancaked piggy.
She seemed to enjoy her grooming too.
I’ve moved the cages together now and will try to bond them all on Saturday
