This is my Margot sitting in what has become her favourite place, up on my shoulder! She literally is my little angel, she is so placid and she loves cuddles, she also purrs when I talk to her, as does her gorgeous sister Mabel! When I got my girls I was worried as they were so timid and nervous, they just hid for the first week...unless there was food on offer! I was worried they would never settle and spend their life hiding in their house! But after a few days they started to take food from my hand, then came the wheeking and popcorning, this was when we started to get them out for cuddle time and now a few weeks on they are so settled, their personalities have really come through now too its incredible, I could just watch them for hours! Any sudden movements they still bolt for the safety of their house, and they still try and scarper when we go to pick them up, but I've learnt that's normal guinea pig behaviour and even some of the most tame, content piggies still do this! With the advice I found on this forum I became a much more relaxed piggie parent and the reward has been incredible, so I not only wanted to thank everyone who makes this forum happen, but I also wanted to reassure any anxious first time piggie parents who are feeling the same as I did a few weeks ago, just relax and be patient, your piggies will settle when they are ready and when they do it will definately be more than worth the wait!
