I have read several posts advising not to feed grass that has been contaminated with dog urine.

I assume the same goes for cat urine ?

Unfortunately, our garden is a cats' thoroughfare and, the other day, I saw a Tom marking his territory by spraying various points on his through route.

My guinea pigs are indoors at the moment but I have been hand picking grass for them to get their digestion adjusted to eating grass. I am very careful what areas I cut it from and avoid any areas that may have been used as a cat or dog toilet !

Can anyone tell me HOW toxic dog and cat urine is ?

dont know how toxic it is but you can grow your own in trays if you want to be 100 percent safe. I have dogs and next doors cats come in all the time so i am going to grow some in a big tray t give to them

that might be safer. However, I am looking forward to letting them out in a run on our lawn. We had it treated last month so am waiting until weedkiller has run it's course.

I have cats coming into my garden all the time. What I have done is put netting over some of my grass. Its the green net that gardeners use to keep birds off. And it seems to work neighbours cats don't go on it and my dog stays off it too
