Junior Guinea Pig
I've had my girls for just under a week now, and it's safe to say that I'm absolutely smitten with them! Despite the short time they've been with me, I've already learnt some things about them.
- They really come to life in the evening. I can sit in the lounge where their cage currently is, with the tv on, and they'll suddenly decide it's play time, and will start darting around, chatting away to each other.
- At present, broccoli is their absolute favourite thing ever. They're not too keen on their pellets, but they do eat it. Once the bag is almost finished I might (gradually) try them on something new.
- They eat SO much hay! I've also introduced them to a bit of grass, and they love it.
This is Annie...

And here's Lillian (Lily)...

And here they are doing what they do best...

They're doing exceptionally well considering they're only around 8 weeks old. They don't dart straight into their igloo when I walk passed like they used to. I find background noise really helps them to chill out a bit. They've just had a mad 30 mins, and have now worn themselves out so they've gone to bed!
I've been handling them for short periods every day, and talking to them regularly. Living on my own helps, as they're the only things I come home to!
Oh, and excuse the mess in the cage! They are spot-cleaned every day, but like to get their hay (and everything else) everywhere! I'm giving the cage a proper clean out tomorrow.
