Adult Guinea Pig
George and Poppy (formerly known as Feta)
and
Gerry and Penny (formerly known as Emmental)
Today I took brothers George and Gerry to meet Tracy at Rugby Rabbit and Guinea Pig Welfare for a date with sisters Emmental and Feta.
Gerry and Emmental hit it off straight away. She soon put him in his place told him who's boss and they were happily munching grass together.
George and Feta went very shy and didn't really know what to make of each other. George wasn't himself at all, he didn't scoff all the grass!
After watching them for a couple of hours we concluded he just wasn't happy being away from home and they were quite comfortable around each other so we'd give it a go.
So the girls came home with the boys.
The noise when I put them in their new houses was amazing! Penny as she's now been named (because a friend of mine wanted me to name a pig after her!) was so confident she had a good old nose at everything, popcorned round her house and chattered to herself all the way. There was a fair amount of kiss chase when Gerry joined her but she soon wore him out. She is half his size and considerable more agile!
George settled in straight away so was clearly missing home. I think their relationship is just going to be a slow burner unlike the feisty lust from the other two!
George and Poppy had a chase round then settled down for some food.
So without further a do here are the happy couples.....
Introducing Penny....

Exploring her new home....

Meeting neighbour Bob (who's very happy to have a new lady next door, he's been popcorning away. Spike on the other hand is not so keen as he let a piece of his lettuce leaf poke through the bars and Penny whipped it off him. I gave him another piece and she did the same again!)

Gerry's finding it hard work keeping up with her
[/IMG]
It's no good, I've got to have a nap.... (his eyes were starting to close bless him)
[/IMG]
I've not managed to get many pictures of George and Poppy yet as she runs off and George wants a close up when the camera gets near.
Here she is munching on her lettuce.
[/IMG]
And the photo that got her her name.....
[/IMG]
She suddenly popped up (she's standing on top of a tunnel!) I thought it was appropriate calling her Poppy as it is Remembrance Sunday as well.
Thank you for all your help today Tracy. It was great to meet you and see your fantastic set up.
(hope you don't mind me changing the girls names!)
