another elderly died during the night,

as predicted quincee who was looking very old died during the night :'( :'( , but this time it was all too much for me, MIck had to calm me down and spoke to me :'(, MIck got out my record book on my pigs and it did indeed show I lost a few in a row last year the more elderly ones, and I know my pigs so well I can tell which ones are getting near to the end naturally and I predicted quincee and dipstick, back in 01/ 02 I got quite a few of my pigs at same time so nature is not so kindly telling me they are elderly, some were rescued some i brought as young but either way they are getting on now, quincee was dobbys mum so Micks burying her with him,
just spoke to my vet and I said about tests being done and he gently explained michelle she and purdey were elderly a cooler night is all thats needed to help them on their way, both were in perfect condition eating the night before, in fact me and carrie anne did checks on them all last night and they were all fine the only thing about quincee was she looked old same as dipstick who this morning is bouncing around his run with young richie, :)
I know exactly how you feel furryfriends be glad when this week is over and even glader when we go away next month ( but no doubt worry myself sick) I'm so glad we had cuddles with them all inc quincee last night she knows she was adored, have you had you test results back yet Debbie?
 
Aw Michelle, after yesterday too. Thinking of you, your family and your little piggies who have lost this week. Stay strong and have lots of piggy cuddles. They'll help you through it x
 
:( I'm so sorry... at least he went peacfully and not in pain...

she was so pretty and had a very gentle way with her she also had only one toe and nail on one of her back feet looked like captain hook, bless her 0:) :'(

I dont know what to say .... I'm so very sorry.
Quincee is on her way to join Purdey. It was her time to go and she left peacefully.
 
hubbys just phoned to check on me as i was so upset Quincee was like the momma pig of the herd as the eldest, her pics on Rainbow pigs she really was stunning :'(
 
My heart goes out to you Michelle! I began to feel as though they were all just going one by one and there was nothing I could do about it! I felt so helpless.

Just remember they all had lovely lives with you! They were both elderly little ladies and sadly thats what happens! :'( It doesn't make it any easier though. How is Carrie-Anne? I bet she is really upset too!

Vet called last night re the test results. He needs to speak with the lab on Monday as the only thing that has shown up is a parasite called Trichomonas which apparently causes diarrhea in cats. He wants to talk with the lab as he has never heard of it infecting guinea pigs before. Will keep you updated.

so so so sorry, this is the very worst feeling in the world, so sorry sweetheart , we've all been there n all know what you feel , hurts so much , but you must tell you re heart they had the happiest life's with you a pig could ever wish for 0:)
 
So sorry chick, I have only just read this after sending you a pm. My thoughts are with you and your family, what a bl99dy week you have had. Just wish I could send you a big hug in person x

OH babe thats so sad - I'm so osrry for you - its been a rough time - what about looking for some new piggies who need your special loving - give them some hope and a new home ? You sound like a wonderful piggy mummy with lots of love to give...may cheer you up too ;) Take acre

Thats a great idea :)

There's no doubt that any guinea pig would benefit from such a loving home
I think a little time to grieve is also a good idea though
 
thanks a lot for your good wishes I know both girls had a good happy home purdey especially becasue of what could have happened if i had missed her that day or the foxes would have got her and 5 babies and dad pongo, so I have to admit I have to think like that or would be so upset, I wont be getting any more for a while unless they need homes as I took on lacey Evee she had Henry and also Richie Murphy and Tico plus Marleys 2 new little girls, the past few weeks, they will keep me busy I guess , talking about it with friends and family they think the girls went becasue of a drop in tempreture during the night although I do have heating panels in there, maybe not warm enough, going to up the temp tonight, just not looking forward to opening them up in the morning, surely not another, or i'll have to take 30 plus pigs to the vets for a major health check think how much that would cost me! :o :o
 
I had to double check this wasn't yesterdays post. Michelle my heart really goes out to you, I just can't believe what you & CarrieAnn are going through at the moment. It sounds like you have an incredible rock of a hubby which must be a comforter. RIP little lady :-*
 
Mick is great with me he is probably the only one who really knows deep down what my pigs mean to me along with carrie anne of course, she seems far more grown up about it all then me , Mick knows I would move heaven and earth for my pigs dog and parrot, my 17 year old Liam ( a little sod at times ) says mum prefers the pigs to us kids and Mick says can you blame her do they give her as much grief as you do, see Micks know me well, :smitten: hes my hero :smitten:

I thought at first it was a double post too
things just suck when they go wrong like that
 
I'm sorry to hear about your loss :'(

At least you had a chance to hold her before she left. I'm sure she appreciated it :)
