So Sammy and Lucky have decided that they don't like most types of hay. They are refusing to eat the B&M meadow hay they usually get, they don't want any of the deans farm meadow hay or the alfalfa king Timothy hay I ordered. They won't even go near the camomile harvest from pets at home. They will eat a bit of readigrass and they do eat the green oat readigrass but I can't feed them that as their main hay.
The only hay they will eat is Timothy hay from the range, the one that comes in tiny bags and has dried vegetables in it. We only have about half of that left so on my way home today I went to pets corner and I found this

It seemed good enough but it was expensive (£4.99 for 750g) I decided to get it because I didn't feel like walking to the range. I picked the one with Apple pieces because I thought they would enjoy them.
Well, I was wrong. I gave them a piece of the apple each and they dropped it and ran away

I don't know what is going on with them, they got so fussy recently. Are anyone else's pigs like this? How do you get them to eat?

My pigs are like that with their veg, turn their noses up at most veg and will only eat certain things, they absolutely will not touch so many things that are good for them.:hb:

Luckily they will eat all and every type of hay. Their favourite is the pure pastures medow hay from the range and timothy hay with dandilions in it from the range also. But they'll take anything :P

Aw, I guess I'm lucky mine like pretty much every vegetable! :)

I get the pure pastures hay for mine sometimes but I'm not sure if
they eat it or not because I mix it with other hays.

They are actually eating the alfalfa king Timothy right now, maybe they know I complained! :mal::yahoo:

Sorry for the blurry photo, I took it quickly through the side of their cage because sammy looked so funny and adorable with that big piece in his mouth :lol!:

So, the answer is to talk about them ! :lol!:

Glad to hear they've started to eat the Timothy hay as it's a good type of hay for Guinea Pigs.

Most of the timothy hay is gone! :)
Lucky doesn't think standings up to eat is necessary :D

Please excuse the dirty cage, I'm about to do a spot clean.

My new girl turned her nose up at it at first too, but now she jumps in the hay tray & waits whilst I fill it up lol :D

My guinea pigs love the Oxbow Orchard Grass Hay and the Oxbow Western Timothy Hay. It's quite expensive because these are imported from America but it's what we found that my fussy piggies really eat nonstop. We recently bought quite a lot of bags because we are stocking on the first cut of hay since it's the soft ones that my piggies prefer. They used to like the Alfalfa King Timothy hay but since we can't find the soft cutting anymore, they refused to eat it now and we still have 2 bags left of it.
