Another hot weather spike in the UK - Read our tips and keep your piggies safe and alive!

We have put mirror films on our windows this year and they made a massive difference to the inside temperature. Without doing anything else temperature hasn’t gone above 25 degrees and our house is usually boiling.

If anyone is interested in these films, we got them from here: Active Window Films. Super easy to install (watch the video on their website though 😂), very effective and really cheap too!

I have been worried about my (recently bereaved) Bella in this heat - so she is sporting a super short haircut today! She went out in her outside run with it's shade on at 7am - think she was still half-asleep! Back inside by 10am as it was hotting up here in Wales ... into the garage as it was the coolest room by far! It has a non-opening window in the shade of the house, so stays cool on hot days, plus I set up a fan to further circulate the cool air.
I also bought some very cheap small pet cooling pads (meant for small dogs) in B&M Bargains (UK cheap general store) at the start of the summer. I found that if I put the cooling pads into the fridge for a short while and then lay them flat under a towel, the piggies would lie down and chill on them! Just an idea that other's may find helpful ...
Cooler outside now ... so she's making up for lost time mowing the lawn once again!

I put one in my piggies hutch a bit like that but my piggies chewed at the corners and managed to get the stuff that was inside. I think It is just foam with water on but is one know
Do any of u know what to do

This is where they chewed
