So guys, I haven't been on here for a while because of some oral surgery, but I'm back and while I was recovering, I adopted another little guy!

This is 10k. He's a baby. This is our second floor time meet and greet. The first one I'm about to talk about.20190128_120542.webp

So the first meet and greet was a disaster with unfortunate lingering effects. Murphy is dominant, doc isn't, but both went to mount 10k and then began fighting together. It was a serious altercation, both wound up with bloody lips. Now Murphy doesn't seem to be dominant anymore. He stays in his igloo and won't come out while doc is around. He doesn't eat veggies at veggies time, until Doc is done with them. Doc is also a different piggie. Doc rumble struts now with 10k and won't stop biting at or licking 10ks junk. I set up a divider in the cage so 10k can be separate. And they cry and sniff mouths through the bars, but doc eventually just goes back to rumble strutting. He does the same with Murphy. They were never hang out together piggies, they both just stayed away from each other, but now it feels like they hate each other and its very tense. They have a a big home, so I don't believe space to be an issue. 20190129_085218.webp

They have a nice multilevel big square cage. Doc stays in the penthouse slot in his bed. I'm afraid the age gap wasn't wide enough. Doc and Murphy are about 8 months and I feel like 10k is only about a month.

I guess, does anyone have any stories about introducing another boar to a 2 boar family? I do have another enclosure if I need one, so i can separate them for good, but lord knows I want them all to enjoy their big enclosure. I know the statistics are against 3 boar families, and I've been following the guides here. But if someone has already been through this at all and can share their experiences that would be awesome.

Thanks!

So sorry this doesn’t look to be working, I only have 2 boars so I cannot help, but I’m sure a couple of members have 3 boars that are a successful group.

It's ok, I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I hope a couple weeks with a divider between them will even them out.

Good luck! I don’t have any experience of this but it must be so stressful! I hope it works out- keeping fingers and toes crossed for you!

Boar trios rarely work, even if there are tons of space, it either works or not I am afraid. Boars in more than a pair are notoriously difficult. Hope you are recovering after surgery also.
