I want another guinea pig, I think I'm slighty obsessed! (:
I don't know what type to get tho either a teddy or an aby! I know I want a sow!
I've been in touch with people on preloved but I'm not sure, I have had guinea pigs from there and there has been nothing wrong with them!
As Alfie ain't neutered who would be better to get neutered/spayed!?
(If you know what I mean)

Alfie would be better as its a much simpler procedure as its all on the outside so to speak, but do remember you will need to leave 4 wheeks before putting him withva sow x

please note, 4 weeks is the minimum, to make sure 100% of sperm are gone, you need to leave 6 weeks as on VERY rare occasions 4 weeks isnt long enough. You also need to be prepared for post op care which can include

Hand feeding day and night,
Many many trips to the vets,
Possible cleaning of absessed, which if youve never done it before can be discusting and the smell is sickening.

I dont want to seem like I'm telling you not to, but i feel its important to make you aware neutering is not a "safe" option and is usually only considered as a last measure. And ofcourse should never be attempted without an experienced Cavvy Savvy vet. (finding one of these can often ivolve an hours journey each way)

Can i ask why your not going down the rescue path? Or choosing to get another male to bond him with of the breeds you like?

Neutering is also not advised for piggies over about 2 as the risk of anestetic is often not worth the gain.

I dont really have rescues around in Liverpool!
I know there's one in Stoke on Trent, but I dont know whether my brother would travel there!
I would love to go down the rescue path like!
I proberly sound stupid like saying this and I know its a different animal but Ive had so many problems with my male degu's with the fighting, they have all had to be seperated!
I'm scared if I buy another male for him to be friends with he wont get on with him but I know he would love company!

You have much more chance of a successful bonding with males if you let them choose their own friend. Many rescues offer a dating service where you can take your pig and they usually stay at the rescue for up to a week to be sure there's a good bond before coming home. I'd certainly recommend this if you decide to get another male.

If you pop a message to one of the rescues i'm sure they'll call you and discuss Alfie's pigsonality and then work out if they have an ideal partner/s for him :)
