I had to take a rabbit up to my vets this afternoon for some dental work, while I was there they asked me if I could take a piggy back with me (well actually they popped him in a carrier and told me I was taking him too ;D) He was left at the vets this morning, the people who brought him in claimed they had found him dumped in a park but I have my suspicions >:( He is a lovely little chap but has got a really nasty skin problem. It makes my blood boil when people cant be bothered to get their pets treated :tickedoff:
I am going to need a name for him, perhaps something that matches flower, possibly potential boyfriend for her ;) I have taken some pics and will post them later tonight.

aww poor little piggy, its disgusting how people wont treat their pets id starve if i had to, if i needed to pay for a vet!

at least he's with somebody who will take good care of him :)

oh hell Cheryl. Good luck with this one. Don't want to say 'Can't wait for the pictures' but would like to see them so we can see the progress in weeks to come...
Fingers crossed for the little man. How about a tree name - still 'plant like' but big & strong?

You could call him after the Oak tree 'Quercus' - oaks are "Trees of courage and the doorway to inner strength"...

or after the Hazel 'Corylus avellana' - "Trees of change & inspiration". Hazel a bit girly but could be Corylus or Cory for short....

That's a great idea - sticking with the pagan theme, what about Rowan or (Mountain) Ash for protection (as he found his way to you), Holly for warrior strength and the masuline (yes honestly!), or Walnut - for strength in dealing with positive new changes in life / letting go of previous life... A great deal can be learnt from the ancient wisdom of trees ;D

Thank goodness he found you, how could people neglect animals >:(

Good for you! ;D ;D ;D Its always nice to hear of an abandonned Guinea going to a good home. :smitten:
I'm sure he'll get all the love and attention that every piggie deserves.

......FORRRRRRRRRR SHES A GOLLY GOOD FELLOW....FOR SHES A GOLLY GOOD FELLOW.... ;D ;D ;D

Timothy (as in grass)
Mr. Fescue (as in grass)
Percy (as in the Park keeper)...

I like Timothy too :)
Good luck with him I know he will get better really quickly just like Flower did.

I like the name Walnut, thanks 8)

Unfortunatly the little chap is not too happy at the moment. I am 99% certain his skin problem is fungal and parasitic, he is scratching and crying out an awful lot :'(. One of the vets gave him ivomec and a steroid injection when he arrived there yesterday so I have got to wait until tomorow before I can start using a melt on him. Chrissie kindly sent me some tamanu cream the other week so I will use that on him for now.

Poor little man, hope he bucks up soon! Some people are so cruel!

:)

Aw, poor little chap that must be unbearable for you as well as him to hear him cry out :'( As Katie said, disgusting people to neglect or cause animal abuse.

Bless him hope he gets better soon.

I like Walnut too, but also Bumble.

Aww poor wee guy, why do people get animals if they are not williing to care for them? >:( I hope the wee guy pulls though okay. Good luck :)

I'm sure you'll get him better, we've all seen you work your magic on others. Would be interested in pics when you can.
