Most of you know Dudley was neutered and after had two post op abscesses which were removed. Since then his wound opened but was glued back and everything seemed to get better. his still eating and drinking fine and talking. This morning i checked him (his still on white towels) and his wee seemed to be a very dark orange coloured (i cant work out if its like blood or not). He doesn't seem to be getting better that quick and i'm wondering wether to take him back to the vets to be checked (again) or just take home to a rodentologist or something? (if you know of any let me know)
Do any of you know what could be causing the orange wee? And what should i do?

Orange or rusty wee can happen in guinea pigs seemigly without organic cause, and doesn't contain blood. It certainly freaked me out the first time I encountered it, tough! At least that's the explanation I got from a small animals vet to whom I showed the pics I had taken.

Some boys are slow to recover, and I hope that somebody with a "problem boy" will come on eventually.

When Connie was having her problems, her urine was a rusty / orange colour and it didn't always contain blood. My vet contacted a specialist and the specialist said that it is normal for some guinea pigs to have this coloured urine. I hope that Dudley makes a full recovery soon xx
