Today has been the first nice day since i had my piggy so thought i would put him in the run on the grass,he never stopped eating from the moment i put him out!My question is should i limit his time on the lawn as he is still a baby and i dont want him getting a poorly tum?I felt very mean getting him in after only about ten minutes he seemed to be having so much fun!

I think so long as he isnt out there all day he would be ok for an hour or two. It can be harsh on tummies if they aren't used to it, it can cause bloat. so long as he has some toys and somewhere to hide in the run and access to water he will be ok. Does he have a friend?

Another nine days and counting till we fetch his friend,he is a couple of weeks younger so just waiting till he is big enough!I cant beleive how fast they grow! The breeder did say they are used to going out but you know how us mums worry! Thanks for the advice.x

My pigs get a lot of grass but they're all used to it, never does them any harm.

They'll stop eating after a while and sit down but if you think about it, they do pass a lot the other end, and quite frequently!

If you can, try parting the run space with half grass and half patio/concrete slabs? It's mainly the space for exercise that we put our pigs out for, so grass is just an added treat, it's not necessary as such. If you're worried about it, put some hay down as well so he has a choice :)
