I have 2 pigs with UTI's that are on 0.3ml septrin x2 daily, can I give them 0.6ml at one time or must it be split? Also, does this dosage sound right? Only reason I ask is because Simon Maddock prescribed one of my pigs 0.75ml x2 daily of banana flavoured septrin which is double what my current cat/dog vet is prescribing, just curious as these UTI's have been ongoing for months.

Stick to what the vet has prescribed, but if you're unsure you can call the vets surgery and check the dosage.
It must be twice daily - like you wouldn't take four paracetamol at once because you needed to do two doses in one day - it's overdosing.
Not giving the antibiotics at regular intervals also causes antibiotic resistance, which means if your pigs ever get ill again you may not be able to cure them.

All drugs have a recommended dosage range depending on the weight of the piggy. The dosage given by non exotics vet tend to be (but not always) the lower end of the range. So it may be that if you ask the vet who prescribed, they may be able to increase dosage if needed. Ask them to liaise with Simon if they need reassurance.

As for giving in one go - the AB has a half life and piggies have a very fast metabolism so whatever the dose is, it will need to be given as prescribed i.e. In 2 doses rather than given in one go to have the intended effect.
