Hey Guys my guinea pig Butters was at the vet for an eye issue! I wanted to no if anyone knows a good probiotic. She is on antibiotics and her stool has become smaller. I am feeding her lots of hay, cucumbers and spinach! But i want to protect her tummy! I live in the US in NY and I dont want anything to happen to her! :( She is an old lady.

I always keep a stock of Fibreplex - available online or from your vet. It's a thick paste and find my piggies will take it better from my finger rather than the syringe it comes in. I give 1ml per kg of piggy and it really is good stuff, any soft poops etc. clear up very quickly.

Hope your girl gets well soon x>>

Another good probiotic is 'poo soup' it can be made by using the poo of a healthy piggie.

So collect some fresh poo from a piggie friend, mush one or two pellets with a little water and syringe it to Butters.

Piggies tend to really like the taste, wrong I know :))

Hope she feels better soon

Welcome to the forum by the way!

Mmm

I presume from what you say that you noticed the poop issue after being at the vet's?
If so and she's getting on a bit I would call the vets and ask their opinion (rather than immediately taking her there as that can cause her stress in itself)

Her age is the deciding factor for me, ask the vet :)
Good luck
