Hello , new member here :)
I wasn’t sure where to post this so I apologise if it’s the wrong place.
I wanted to see if anyone had any advice or who have gone through (going through) something similar.
My guinea unexpectedly died in February I was heart broken and I still get tearful now she has a sister who I still have and ever since she died my anxiety has gone through the roof I am constantly checking on her if she’s asleep and not moving much I completely panic , I check if I can’t see her in her cage me and my partner work full time and I worry about leaving her and when I finish work or my partner does I am.rushing home to get back to her And he.
I have even thought about getting a pet camera set up so I can keep an eye on her while I’m out I know this sounds completely ridiculous and isn’t healthy , I suffer with anxiety anyway but this has really set it up I wasn’t like this before with them what do I do? I don’t really know anyone I can say this to who will understand or can shed some light .
Thanks for reading sophie x

Hello and welcome although I’m sorry it’s under such sad circumstances :(

What you are feeling is perfectly normal. I get anxious over my piggies too and so do many other member.

You may find these threads helpful as David has mentioned above Human Bereavement - Grieving, coping tips and support links for guinea pig owners and their children and here is one on how to help your remaining guinea pig grieve for her sister Looking After A Bereaved Guinea Pig

When you are feeling better, may be you would like to write a memorial post about your passed piggy in our rainbow bridge section xx

Thanks Claire. I wanted to add the links but couldn't remember how. I will learn.

Sorry to hear you having a tough time. I have anxiety as well and get so worked up over my piggies health. I have a camera set up so I can watch them from work, it really helps.
After my last 2 died it took me 7 years to pluck up courage to get more. They are so worth it though. The calming effect they have on me outweighs the bad times.
I'm not sure I have any advice, just wanted you to know you are not alone in what you are feeling x
