One of my guinea pigs has odd growths on his front feet. I was trimming his nails when I noticed, and nearly trimmed the growths too!
They look like nails but seem to be coming from the pad on his feet.
Anyone know what they are? And how to treat?

Once your registration is complete you will be able to post a picture.

In the meantime, it sounds like they are possibly foot spurs. Do they look like yellowy overgrown pieces of skin ?
If so then are harmless and you should not do anything with them yourself.

If they are getting caught in bedding, pulling, bleeding or causing any discomfort then you should see a vet for a safe removal.
Do not attempt to cut foot spurs off yourself as it will cause intense pain and they bleed profusely.

As I say, add a picture and we can advise further
