gizmo goes in on thursday does anyone have ny advice on the care i should give him when he comes home, I'm really nervous as i am worried about infections etc
thanks
Just be sure to check every day for any swellings in the area, say morning and evening, as they can appear very quickly. Keep them on towels for the first week, changing twice a day, or even 3 times if you have enough towels! But the swelling is the first sign of infection in my experience, followed by the usual signs of illness.
My boar is going in to be done in the morning. I can understand you feeling nervous about it I know I will not sleep tonight. Just as the other poster said check them often and keep them on towels. I am sure your vet will give you an after care information sheet too. Good luck to your piggie
took him in this morning so fingers crossed he'll be alright.i've never been as nervous about a pet going for a op as i am him
Should i feed him veg high in vitamin c to give his immune system a boost?
It's best to ask the vets this question as they will know, most of the things the vets tell me is check his stitches to make sure they are all in place and he's not bleeding. Take him in the next day if he's not eaten and keep him inside and nice a snuggly warm. Also my vets asks for a check up 2 days later...so if they don't ask you to do this, then ask them.
he's back an is quite lively considering i've put him in his cage an left him alone to calm down. the vet has given me pain killers that i'm to give him one drop a day in his mouth but please tell me how to do this he's really fidjety cant see him letting me do it to be honerst
