I posted last week about Bailey and Oscar being smelly. Well they seem to be getting worse and they are making such a mess in there cage i am having to clean it comletely out everyday. When we bring them in for grooming you can smell them straight away :( I got some grooming wipes today and plan to bath them once they have settled in but is there anything else i can do to help keep them clean :)

have you got a strong nose? my boys dont smell, or i dont think they do, and no one has ever said they do.

How old are they? I found my boys didnt smell but as soon as they got into the hormonal stage they stuck and still do (but i like it lol!) its generally a very strong musky smell, and their boar glue stinks...they generally boar glue everything from hay, to vet bed to their toys so the smell is strong all i can suggest is wiping any of their toys and hideys if there indoors down with warm water and white vinigar. :)

Yes, two of my boars just went through their hormonal stage. They smelled really bad for a bit. Once they got over that, they stopped stinking. :)

Are your boars young?

I have the same problem with my 3 boars. They are about 14 weeks now and stinking! Looking forward to all advice given on your question.

Sorry i have taken a while to respond.

I am not too sure how old, the RSPCA said when they rescued them they didnt have a clue. I think they are still young as there nails are very different to Ginger and Soot and they are nearly 2 years old.

I have now got some wipes. They didnt seem too keen on them but it helped.

Do there bits swell when they are going through there hormonal stage?

When my boys were indoors, sometimes there was a srong odour but now they're outside in the shed I can't smell anything when I open the doors (maybe it's cos more fresh air get's in to the shed).
My boys are around 8 months old now.
