I have 2 male piggy’s that are 7 months old any tips for taming also they aren’t eating their pellets but they eat the veggies can anyone give me advice?

@Leothepiggy What are you expecting them to be like when they are "tame"? It will help to know so people can tailor their advice.

Also, pigs are prey animals so they differ greatly to other animals.

Do you feed hay? It should be the majority of their diet.

As in tame I mean not so skittish when they hear me or let me hand feed them. Yes I do feed them hay I have a basket that they can eat from that has hay in it!

Hi!

Please take the time to read the guides in the link below; they tell you how you can interact and make friends with your piggies in their own body language and behaviours. 'Piggy whispering' is surprisingly effective because you are making total sense to them. ;)

Bringing piggies round and allowing trust to grow is however always a slow and gradual process. Try to avoid predatory behaviours (as listed in the link), create daily rituals, each with their own call and melody and use their favourite foods and lots of praise to lure and train them.

Not eating pellets is not the end of the world; they should make only 5% or 1 tablespoon per piggy per day. You can try another variety if you wish to; but as long as they eat plenty of hay (over 80% of the daily food intake) and if they eat their peppers and fresh herbs for minerals and trace elements, then you need not worry. A pellet free diet is possible.
Please do not leave any pellets hanging around in a bowl all day that your boys pee and poo into; most often that is the reason (apart from selective feeding) why they don't eat pellets.

Although pellets may not be essential, you could try a different brand.

My two wouldn't touch the JR Farm grainless. I switched to Science Selective grainless, and they love it!
