Adult Guinea Pig
after my one rescued piggy, blossom, gave birth to 5 adorable babies last thursday making my total 10 if have discussed with my oh about how we need better housing for them. (it looks like he has finally given in and is going to let me keep all of them)
they all live outdoors in my wooden room that was built off the back of our house for my cats to stop them getting hurt by the neighbours. at present i have 2 x 5' hutches and 2 x 4' hutches but they are not very deep (front to back) so there is not that much floor space. i feel that they are not big enough for all my piggies to have their own space. i have the room to build bigger and better hutches. our idea is to have a large block with 4 hutches in it. the area can accomodate a complete unit that would be 8' long x 2 or even 3' deep (front to back). this would have to be split into 4 sections but with some planning i think we could make each one with 2 levels giving them more space. has anyone ever built anything like this as any info would be gratefully received. once i manage to get this sorted i will post some photos for you to see. hopefully not too long in the future!
