I hope the pictures attached okay, my daughters young friend discovered these on her piggie and she is wondering what it is and if it's serious also what she can use, I have told her I think it will be a vet job but I thought I would put it in here for opinions of people who know better then me if there's anything she can just buy to treat it herself. She's very worried about Layla. She said some of the fur around the cut is missing. X

I don't know what it is, as I'm no expert, I would get the piggies checked by a vet immediantly
 
I'm no expert either, but I would say this piggy needs to see the vet urgently for treatment.
 
Thanks both, I have said about the vets, she's only 14 though and very worried I wanted to be able to calm her down, plus if she can wait till morning it would be better because of emergancy costs (don't get me wrong her mum would take the piggie if ness) a friend of mine from a rescue has recommended hibiscub and sudocream with poss treatment for mites. X

The cuts look sore, if you can I think you should try to get booked at an Emergency Vets.
 
There looks like hair loss on the back & I would think it could be mange (Sellnick) mites. The cut is probably from where the poor thing has been scratching itself. This needs treatment by a vet, as the cut could become infected, so the vet will give treatment for the mange mites probably by injection & maybe antibiotics for the cut. Please get the piggy seen by the vet as soon as you can, (Together with any cage mates) for a proper diagnosis, tomorrow will be fine, as it can become so severe the piggy could have fits :(
 
She will deffo be seen by a vet, I can't arrange anything though as it isn't my piggie, she belongs to a 14 year old so it's really down to her and her mum. I know she's hoping she can wait till first thing. I don't know if it's important or not but that is the only mark on Layla in every other way she appears healthy x
 
my guinea pig had this exact thing, I took him to the vet and thy have him some cream and medicated shampoo. It took about a week or so to go and after he was fine. However it did come back a few times in the future but he lived a long and happy life! :)
 
It could be mange mites or fungal. She needs to see a vet for a proper diagnosis. Both are easily treatable. If it is mites treatment would be with Ivermectin preferably by injection as it is more effective. She would need 3 injections a week to 10 days apart.
