You know when there’s a little pile of hay in the cage? Instead of going around or just trampling it like a normal pig, they take a HUGE jump over it. Huge to the point that if they take any more air they’ll probably fly away.

Can’t be just Lily showing off her bouncing skills.

My Willow does this. Every time I put a fresh pile in she flies over it, turns around, runs through it, through the tunnel, into one entrance of the hidey and out the other then settles down and eats some.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a nutty piggy. 😂

Willow sounds like such a happy girl

Timmy doesn't seem to like walking through hay he jumps over the pile when he can to avoid going through it. He eats hay from the edge of the pile. Freddie lies in the middle of the hay and eats it and spreads it around making the area Timmy needs to jump bigger. Every time I pass the cage I scrape the hay back into a high pile instead of it covering the size of 2 bath mats!

The hay tray we have in the cage has a small lip around the edge to keep the hay in. When we first put it in the boys were leaping over it like show jumping horses and they'd stop before they jumped like they were prepping themselves to jump as high as they could I think it took them a couple of months before they realised they could just step over it.
