Hi it's just to find out if there's any playgroups in the Glasgow area where I could bring my little piggy Thomas?

I wouldn't think their is any such thing. Whilst they are herd animals, mixing your pigs with others when there is no guarantee what sex they are let alone illnesses that haven't been realised yet would frankly be disastrous. If you mean humans getting together to talk and share their piggy world we have 'meets'.

Thank you!

I agree with Mother Hubbard. "Play dates" for guinea pigs would be extremely stressful for the poor piggies. Each time they are placed with another piggy they have to go through the dominance process to work out a hierarchy. To expose them to that, even for short periods, on a regular basis would be very hard on your piggy. Have you thought about checking with local rescues to see if you can take Thomas boar dating so he can pick a friend for you to adopt so that he isn't alone?

I spoke to my vet and they suggested that but she said it would be really difficult as there isn't any locally the nearest is a 2 hour drive and we don't want to put him through getting neutered. So we are looking into all options atm. He seems to be doing extremely well considering the loss of bubbles. I'm going to spend this week monitoring him more closely. Then make a final decision based on his behaviors. Thank you

Ayrs Guinea Pig rescue aren't as far away as that from Glasgow, and they are really good (one of the recommended rescues on the forum). You could try them? I'm in Kirkintilloch, so not too far away, and I did a couple of volunteer shifts there - although I haven't managed to get back recently.
