Hello,

I have a boar that I adopted from the humane society (SPCA). However, he was just dropped off at the door one day so no one could tell me how old he was. He is a big boy at about 1500 grams. And in terms of "cuteness" he is a rather "bland" looking piggy but he's perfect to me.

The little fella was in a cage in the corner of a room that housed birds and cats. I went to drop off a donation of dog and cat food and ended up with a guinea pig. He's been alone his entire life as far as anyone knew so I'm not so sure that he wants a friend. He's really lovable though and wheeks like crazy in the morning for his veggies.

I would like to know how old the little guy is. I thought about taking him to the vet to ask but I haven't found one yet that specialized in piggies.

Thank you for your help

At that weight, he is most likely and adult pig. As PP said nails are a good indicator. If the front nails are still small points then around one or under (ish). Teeth too? xx
