Last fri i went out 2 see my guineapig Lady.I was shocked to find her head tilted to one side, her head non stop moving side to side, her eyes spinning, and really unsteady on her feet.
I thought she had a stroke and wouldnt make it through the night,i checked her every 2 hrs to give her carrots as she wouldnt drink or eat much.

The next day it was like nothing had happened, back to her normal self!
I was so happy!I took her to a vet just to get her checked,he said she wouldnt of recovered so fast if it was a stroke, but not an inner ear infection as they looked fine.
He said dogs and cats get this trouble with their inner ear but never heard of it in a piggie!
Has anyone else had this?

Hi

Inner ear infection or a neuro problem are the 2 most likely problems.

As it cleared up over night it might have been a very small neuro problem.

I had a small stroke last year and the syptoms lasted for less than an hour so it might have been the same with your piggy.

I'm no expert but it sounds like a mini-stroke to me. My old collie had one once and she was 'weird' for as little as 10 minutes - eyes flicking from side to side and unable to communicate with anyone. Then she was as right as rain as if it had never happened.
