BubblesPiggies
Junior Guinea Pig
Thanks i was going to put newspaper under the fitch but i could use puppy pads. I already buy the johnsons disenfectant for my hamsters so ill probably just use that. I might get the carrot house and maybe a couple of the bendy bridges instead of the pigloos. I completely forgot about syringes. Where should i get them from? Ill add the probiotic to my list. Thanks a lotxxGreat list @BubblesPiggies! It's always good to be prepared.
Are you going to put anything under the Fitch? Sometimes it's nice to have something like puppy pads underneath so you can just roll it up and bin it.
What are you going to use to clean the cage? PetsatHome sell disinfectant in squirty bottles but you can also use white vinegar.
I'm not a fan of pigloos as they can lead to territorial issues. I'd look for something with two doors or maybe treat them to a carrot house from PetsatHome.
God forbid they get ill but it might be worth getting some Pro-C probiotic from PetsatHome and ordering a few syringes just in case you ever need to syringe feed.

Ok will check amazon. I'm not getting them until october as we are having some work done in the garden. I have to sort out the playshed they are going in. I will use my scales i have for the hamsters for the guinea pig. If I'm already spending time looking on the pet websites at toys what will i be like when i get themNewspaper is fine for under the Fitch. It gets a bit soggy if it gets too much pee on it but the Fitch should absorb a lot of it.
Alot of the pet websites sell syringes, but good old Amazon definitely sell them. They're not an urgent purchase but it's handy to get some eventually.
When are you getting your piggies? You'll have to post some photos of them for us once they settle in.
Just wait until you start looking at all of the websites that sell guinea pig beds. Then you'll end up like most of us with snuggle sacks and fleece tunnels galore.
Ooh, I thought of something else. A scale to weigh them is handy. Keeping track of their weight is the best way to check their health, plus it can help them become more used to you.
I like to fly by the seat of my pants in most things I do!
That's the sort of gal I am. that's good I didn't know you could do that.I notice you are in Manchester. Fitch are close to Manchester and you can buy bedding direct from them if you have someone in a car that can collect it. It is much cheaper than buying online.
I put newspaper under mine so that it is easier to remove.
They also sell Harringtons GP food and a few other bits and pieces. Their opening times are on the website. They are listed as Fitch Recycling on the web.that's good I didn't know you could do that.
