Order Hay

I'm so sick of dusty old hay and need to find a better supplier. Annoyingly I live near a load of farmland but I don't drive so getting a larger amount locally isn't an option.

Anyone bought from the above online store?

Can you recommend any good online hay suppliers?

TIA.

I order online from naturesownpets.co.uk

Have to order 5 bags at a time of XL (Meadow) Hay, I think they're great value and I'm always happy with the hay. It is organic so there can sometime be pricky bits or moss but there's really not much!

I got my last lot from naturesown too. If you've got room to store 5 bags it's a good deal. I struggled to store it so will probably go back to buying from my local shop and carrying it home!

I'll take a look at naturesown, thank you :) Depends how big the bags are but I can usually find somewhere to store it.

I liked the meadow hay I was buying from my local shop, it's really nice but quite pricey but I'd rather pay more if I know the quality is good.

Natures own hay is lovely, but as I have 10 pigs its just not economical. I do buy the 5 A Day hay from them (from the range) as a treat though.

Oooh the nature's own hay looks nice and within budget. I will place an order next week. I can store it somewhere, I'm sure!

@Flutterby I was just looking at the 5 a day, that sounds nice. Might get a bag.

Anyone tried their sweet green hay?

I have. It is lovely and green but I didn't get on with it. It feels a bit damper as it is less dried and I couldn't tell what was wee'd on and what wasn't which meant I just threw all of it away each time. I stuck it in a hay rack after that and they ignored it!

I love the hay from here. I get the INGs hay . I have only had one duff batch from this company - and they replaced it - no quibbles.

I have to say, I've never had a 'bad' order from them, but sometimes the quality hasn't been worth the money for me, if that makes sense.

I get ings from hay and straw. Have had timothy hay from them too. Very nice company. I once ordered hay to go to my old address and when i told them what had happened they gave me another lot half price!

Thanks for all the feedback. Think I will still try natures own first and see what theirs is like. Anything is going to be better than what I currently have. It smells nice but it's just too dusty.

I've used www.timothyhay.co.uk and it's good value, great smelling hay and they've got their 2017 lot in now so need to order some myself!

From my experience, completely dust free and seems good for teeth! It's eating hay rather than sleeping hay as it's not soft or anything but they loved it! Lasted ages too.

I've ordered from ksm hayloft and hay was good quality pigs loved it ...but based in us so probably not helpful for you

I think the problem I have with most commercially bought hay is the fact that you don't get a lot of decent quality hay for your money. I have 10 pigs to feed, so cost is always going to factor in. I am lucky that my local equestrian store does such nice green hay.

i have bought ings hay from this company, only had one batch that was rough and dusty, due to the quantity of hay i use it is not cost effective,i use 10kgs of hay a week !

I'll add that to the list of places to try :)

Thanks.

Well I didn't order any hay as my local pet shop has new 2017 hay in and it's gorgeous! I grabbed a couple of bags and the piggies are loving it. It smells so nice

I love fresh cut hay! If you have a look for equestrian/farm shops around you they will do the same hay in bales for around £5 each :)
