Anyone else experienced this

My two girly pigs Gizmo and Pixie were quite happy peeing in their litter tray until I bought a couple of plastic igloos to replace their chewed to pieces houses. All of a sudden they stopped using their litter tray and started peeing in their new houses 98)

My only possible explanation is that the igloo's have plastic bottoms on them that the pigs think is just like their litter tray (minus the litter). It was getting ridiculous how lazy they were (getting smelly too) :tickedoff:

Well I wasn't having that, took a stanley to the bases and now they're lying back on the aubiose again.......defo seems to have worked as i've seen them jumping into the litter tray a lot more.......

.........just when you thought you knew your pigs, they go and do something wierd.......love 'them, the lazy so n so's.... :smitten:

Not surprised they stopped using it lol, it's very rare for pigs to use litter trays Mine have never properly used one. ;D

Nope....two days later and they're back to peeing in the trays......can't stop them pooing everywhere they go but at least peeing in the one place is better.... O0

I got the girls a high back corner litter tray. One piggy used it 80% of the time because it was next to the hay rack, but the other one just used to pull out all the wee'd on hay scraps and eat them xx0 gross! I've taken it out now coz that was just horrible to watch.

Shadow at first had a litter pan....... was also very good at using it ...at first, I think it was after I got the pigloo he stopped using the litter tray so I took out the tray. the pigloo btw does not have a plastic bottom to it so he completely wets the litter and poops everywhere! I try and keep it clean on a regular basis, scoop out the dirty stuff, put infresh bedding for him to sleep on he's a sweet boy ;D one time, I remember in the first 2-3 years I had him,, I had thoroughly cleaned and washed out the potty pan (the litter tray) and Shadow sits in it and I come back five minutes later, and the tray was FILLED with turds! LOL also one time during Xmas time I was wrapping a present for my sis and I put it out under the tree, my older sis , brings back the present and says "Look at this" Shadow had left a nice little present of his own! lol I took it off of course. Piggys are funny and make me laugh sometimes because of their cute antics (behaviors)

Oh definately especially the boys and if i forget to pick up the veg bowls you can gurantee they will pee in those too !
