As we got the boys in lockdown they are very much into our working from home routine that involves breakfast between 8:30-9am (even later on the weekends!) This morning we were rudely awakened by a delivery at 7:20am 😱 came out and expected to be met by some wheeking and breakfast demands but no both pigs just snuggled up in their hidey house like erm what are you doing here is sleep time!
I totally agree boys! 😂

Whenever we get up much earlier than normal or get up in the middle of the night we always find them in their respective night time spots staring at us like ‘human it’s not time yet’. I always wonder if they hear us getting out of bed and move to their safe place or if they just spend the whole night there. Need a piggie cam 😁

Not me! I have morning piggies who are up and about and ready for breakfast at around 6am! So dutiful slave gets up at 6.15 and goes into the garage around 6.30/7ish (I make them wait I am NOT getting up any earlier than that!) As soon as I open the personnel door to the garage I hear whicking going on. In the colder months I have a duvet that goes over the front of the hutch which I lift up while saying "Morning piggies!" and then I see expectant faces at the mesh awaiting breakfast pellets. As soon as I shake the tin and say "breakfast time" they are popcorning away happily and stood on their hind legs waiting for the bowl to appear.

You are one dedicated well trained slave! There is no way they would be getting breakfast that early in this house 😂

I wish!
I get out of the bed and they're screaming for food...
So I have one cat purring at me, other one stomping around the bed. Dog hopping around the kitchen and pigs screaming upstairs and a child expecting to be fed :coat:

Ours are quiet up to 5 am because that's the time my partner used to get up for work and he gave them a slice of cucumber then to keep them going until I got up. If we make a noise after 5 we get a piggy riot, but they go back to bed after cucumber and pellets. Guinea pigs have very long memories and a tummy clock.

Priscilla doesn’t do mornings!

When I come down which is usually around 7:30ish Micah & Phoebe are at the bars, or looking longingly at an empty food bowl.
Micah run to the end of the cage where the pellets are kept to make sure they will arrive in the food bowls.
Priscilla may or may not deign to put in a appearance at this point.
The arrival of hay and a lettuce leaf does bring her cute little nose into view, but she’s not a morning pig.

My lot wait until dogs are walked and fed and outside rabbits are fed. Then upstairs I go and open the door to the guinea pig room. Lots of wheeking and standing on hind legs to get a large slice of pepper each before clean out commences and further veg and hay arrives!

I rarely get up before 8 so its usually around 9 when they have brekky.

My hubby does the morning feeding since he wakes up earlier than me. So I really don't know how the piggies are in the morning coz I'm still snoozing in bed. :D But by the time I wake up and go to the living room, piggies all hide from me because I always would try to give them cuddles to start my day. It's so funny seeing them run away as soon as I say "Good morning piggies!" :lol!::xd:

Boss lady Clover is definitely not a morning piggy, in winter especially I am rustling the pellet bag, clanking the food dishes... every time my heart lurches when she doesnt appear at the bars with the others... then just as I finish dishing up the food a sleepy nose and whiskers pokes out of a hidey house, asking, can you serve that over here please? So of course I do, she gets breakfast in bed!

Our boys do love some breakfast in bed!

My 9yrs old gets food served in his bed. He's deaf, so I have to knock and he knows I am there. So he pokes his head out, waiting for a taster of what's in the food bowl.

I sort of have the opposite. I work in a school so term time they get their pellets pretty early in the morning. But if I'm late they just stare at me like "excuse me you think you can come in here now after I've gone back to sleep don't think you're getting the privilege of feeding me now...wait is that food ok I suppose just this once"

I have a cat and piggy chorus as soon as I open my eyes, doesn’t matter if it’s 4am or 8am! They can hear my breathing in the next room I think! :)) But it was far louder when Jess was around, sure she spurred the others on to shout at extra volume as lost her wheek years ago! XD
