My guinea pigs are babies. Today I picked up the guinea pigs food bowl to fill it, and when I walked away from it Elsa began screaming bloody murder. She wasn't being bit, she was perfectly fine when I put the food back in. I guess I offended her or something by rearranging her house.. Or feeding or something. Baby.

She was probably wheeking, which is a very loud squeak piggies make when they are expecting food and are trying to get your attention. It's completely normal, pretty much every piggy does it, it's basically their way of nagging you for food. For example, if you start rustling bags of food before feeding them, they will associate the rustling of bags with being fed, thus they know when to expect food. :)

You're totally right, that's what happened. I just walked by the cage and she did the bloody murder wheeking again, staring at me, knowing.
So I gave her a pepper.

Hahaha you are well and truely owned now and caved in to the wheek with veggies! World domination by your pigs is next on the agenda :))

Some pigs are noiser than others, I think half my street can hear Jemima at veg time and my roads a good mile long :lol!: The others make some noise but its nothing in comparison (Jemima is now 3.5 years so it's not just babies hehe)

Hahaha! The wheeking can be SO loud! I have 4 piggies and one of them goes crazy at food time, or any time she THINKS it's food time! She is so loud compared to the other 3, but then her loudness makes them all up their noises too!

Ahh I'm quite lucky then. My others are quite happy to let Jemima do the wheeking for them :)) although they do make some noise because obviously I don't provide food fast enough for their liking (but the noise isn't a patch on Jemima)

She was probably wheeking for food- they can be very noisy, and some have a louder 'voice' than others. Mine are not 'babies,' but Hadley is about 5 years old and very excitable and LOUD! I can hear her two floors up when she thinks it's time for food!

Maybe she was screaming 'let it go' because you took the food bowl away and her name is Elsa? :))

I currently have three babies- all just over a week (wheek) old, and they make such a racket for their size, but the worst are my female group... The four of them make so much noise and are so messy.

Lol, she's Elsa because her first companion was a GP named Einstein and Einsteins wife was named Elsa. Not the movie! Not that isn't a good movie.. ;)

Lol I meant it as "are your guinea pig babies" not "baby guinea pigs" but didn't realize how it sounded until I posted it ha. But yes! They're so messy and loud!
