guinea pigs nipples? i was just checking chesney over and i turn him slightly on his back to check and i noticed a nipple, when i haven't noticed them before. i mean like i've seen them, but they aren't usually obvious when i turn him over. i've seen them at the vets when she was holding him though.

i just wanted to know what 'normal' boars ones should look like? just incase i've noticed it because it's different maybe.

i tried to find the other one but couldn't and he didn't appreciate being turned over for long so i didn't risk upsetting him any further.

i've looked on the net and i can't find any pics really. i tried 'nipples' and 'teats' and nothing...

so if anyone has any pics i could compare his to that would be great.

chesney's nipple looks like that, except it is pink coloured with a darker 'tip'.

he is a ginger pig and has very white skin though. maybe why the colour is different? as he has some toenails, and then a few have a darker bit to them.

maisie is darker, black and white, and her nipples are darker. i guess that makes sense.

sounds (and looks) like his are ok then. i'll have another look tomorrow and see.

my two buns are at the vets in a couple of days so if i'm concerned at all tomorrow i'll take them along aswell just to be on the safe side.

The colour diff is because of the diff colour of hair/skin. Different coloured animals have different skin pigmentation. As long as the nipple isn't discharging or swollen i'd not be worried

i found chesneys other nipple! both look the same and aren't swollen, red etc etc. just me worrying again! rolleyes
