Anyone have the P@H "Chew and roll" toy?

They were on offer 2 for £7 so I bought a couple for my pigs.

They say "100% natural" on them but I just finished assembling one and my hands are stained dark blue from the ink/paint. I don't like the idea of my piggies chewing them and eating whatever it is my hands are stained with (it won't wash off).

Are they actually safe for piggies? Is the stain safe for them to eat? :{

I am sorry but I don't think I would risk giving them to my piggies as they look like they have artificial colouring on. It wouldn't be worth the risk, colours can case neurological problems in guinea pigs. Can you be sure they aren't?

It could be natural dyes, but best bet would be to phone Pets at Home customer services, and ask specifically how the wood was coloured. Ask for the name of the dye, and whether it is natural or chemical.

We brought something similar to that, like a star shaped one with a wooden ball inside, and it was stained different colours, but our guinea pigs are completely fine? :{

It says it's vegetable dyes (which might be why it all comes off in my hands) so I think it is safe. However, I gave it to my pigs and they don't seem interested. I should have learned by now, they're never interested in any "toys" I buy. rolleyes

I have that ball too, and my piggie isn't interested in it at all. I have poked veggies into the holes which she eats but the majoirty of the time she ignores it rolleyes

Maybe they know what's good for them lol And I can't think of any "vegetables" that are blue rolleyes
